There are many factors that could make your EPIRB quite useless in an Emergency situation. Frequency alignment, Battery Voltage, programming characteristics, internal antenna connections, damage and water ingress, are all things that may not be detected with the built in self testing facility of your EPIRB. As they operate on 406 MHz and 121.5 MHz and use the polar orbital Cospas/Sarsat Satellites, the frequency tolerance is critical. We use calibrated EPIRB testing equipment to monitor and record the transmitted signal parameters and programmed data information to ensure your EPIRB does its job when you want it to. The EPIRB testing service includes a certificate confirming satisfactory operation.
